Who We Are
I Grew Up Doing This
I come from a construction family. As a kid I spent my time on job sites working for my father and my uncles, which is a different education than picking up a trade later on. You learn early what a job looks like when it is done properly, and you learn what happens when it is not.
I have run JB Home Renovations and Painting for 13 years now. We take on all home renovations, from a single room repaint through a full gut. Kitchens are what we have done the most of, more than a hundred of them, but the same crew handles baths, flooring, framing, drywall, doors, windows, roofing and siding.
Standards in this industry have gotten low, and everybody has heard the horror stories. The crew that stops showing up. The price that moves after the contract is signed. We built this business around being the opposite of that. Accountability, reliability, precision and quality, with clear communication through the contract and through the work.
We show up on time every day. There are no catches and no gimmicks.

Licensed and insured
Registered Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor, PA201169, insured through USLI. We will hand you proof of both before the first day.
It goes in writing
You get an itemized written estimate before work starts, and any change to the job goes in writing before it happens. No surprises on the final invoice.
We show up
On time, every day the crew is scheduled. If something moves, you hear it from us first rather than finding out because nobody turned up.
We pull the permits
Where the work needs a permit and a township inspection, we file the paperwork and meet the inspector. You do not deal with the municipal office.
Training and certification
Certified for the work older homes need
A lot of the housing stock around here predates 1978, which changes how a renovation has to be run. Joe holds the current federal training for it.
EPA Certified Renovator, lead-safe (RRP)
Trained and certified to the EPA lead-safe work practices required on any home built before 1978. Containment, safe removal and a cleaning verification before the room goes back into use.
Asbestos Awareness trained
Trained to identify materials that may contain asbestos in an older home, stop work and bring in a licensed abatement contractor before anything is disturbed.
Held by Joe Brennan. Copies of either certificate, the PA HIC registration and the insurance certificate are yours on request.
